WBookie

Editorial policy

This page sets out the rules we follow when we produce and publish content on WBookie: who writes, who pays, where AI is used and how we correct mistakes. It is a statement of how we work; how our numbers are calculated is on the methodology page.

Who we are and what we publish

WBookie is an information site about football and sports betting: fixtures, odds, tipster rankings, a forum and a blog. We are not a bookmaker. We do not take bets, we do not hold players' money, and no real-money gambling happens on this site.

Articles are credited either to a named author or to the WBookie Editorial Team. The Editorial Team is a team credit, not a single person, and its page says so. We never invent an author: a post whose byline is not in our author register is credited to WBookie.

Editorial independence

Editorial decisions are not for sale. We do not accept payment to publish, change, rank or remove an article, a tipster ranking or a bookmaker score. Tipster rankings are calculated from graded tips (see the methodology). Bookmaker scores follow published criteria and weights.

We do not currently sell sponsored articles or co-branded content. Display advertising and newsletter sponsorship, where they exist, are labelled and kept separate from editorial content.

Affiliate links and bookmakers

Some links from WBookie to bookmakers are affiliate links: if you register through one, we may earn a commission. These links carry rel="sponsored" and a disclosure next to the button. A commission is not one of the criteria in our bookmaker score.

Our reviews and scores are our own assessment, based on the published criteria. A bookmaker cannot pay for a better score.

AI and automation

We use automation and, in limited places, AI language models, and we say where: match previews, match reports and daily odds analysis are generated from our data with templates, and parts of a preview may be expanded by an AI model. At the moment some of this content is still published automatically. We are changing that so every generated article is saved as a draft and published only after an editor has read it, and we will update this policy when the change is live.

Simulated tipsters are bots. They are labelled as bots, ranked separately from people, never receive badges, and their tips are graded by the same rules as everyone else's.

Corrections

We correct errors in data and articles as soon as we confirm them. A corrected article gets a new update date; when a correction changes the meaning of an article, we add a short note saying what changed.

Odds and scores come from a third-party provider and may be late or wrong at the source. If you see a difference between WBookie and the competition's or the bookmaker's own site, tell us: we check it and fix it, or report it to the provider.

Age and responsible gambling

Betting is for adults only (18+, or the legal age where you live) and can be addictive. We do not encourage anyone to bet more than they can afford to lose. Support organisations and self-exclusion information are on our responsible gambling page.
