How we score tipsters

Every number on a tipster profile or leaderboard comes from a ledger of tips that were priced by our server, locked before kick-off and graded automatically. This page explains each rule, so you can check a score yourself.

What counts

Only structured tips count: one match, one market (1X2, double chance, over/under, Asian handicap or both teams to score), one selection, a line where the market has one, and a virtual stake of 1 to 10 units. Free-text tips and tips imported from the retired simulator are left out of every ranking.

A tip belongs to the season of the match's kick-off, not the day it was posted or graded. Only graded tips are counted; a pending tip never is.

Prices and locking

Our server sets the odds when a tip is submitted, from the bookmaker prices WBookie has stored. Tipsters cannot type their own odds, and everyone is priced with the same bookmaker order, so nobody gets a better price than anybody else. Double chance has no price of its own, so it is calculated from the 1X2 prices of the same bookmaker and rounded down.

Tips close 60 seconds before kick-off. Each person can place one tip per market per match, and a submitted tip cannot be edited.

Grading

Tips are graded automatically from the score after 90 minutes (extra time and penalty shoot-outs are ignored). People and simulated tipsters go through the same code. A tip is won, lost or a push: the stake is returned when the score lands exactly on a whole-number line, for example exactly 2 goals on an over/under 2 line. Only half-point and whole-number lines are offered; quarter lines are not.

A tip is void, and counts for nothing, when the match is cancelled, abandoned, awarded or a walkover, or when it has no final result 72 hours after kick-off.

The numbers we show

All amounts are virtual money: one unit of stake is 10,000 virtual. Each ranking row shows the following figures, rounded to two decimals.

  • ROI: profit divided by the amount staked on won, lost and pushed tips, times 100. A won tip earns stake × (odds − 1), a lost tip loses its stake, a push or void earns nothing.
  • Yield: the average of profit ÷ stake over the tips, so every tip weighs the same whatever its stake.
  • Strike rate: won ÷ (won + lost) × 100. Pushes are left out.
  • Settled tips: won, lost and pushed tips in the period.

Seasons and ranking

A season is a calendar month or a calendar quarter in Vietnam time (UTC+7).

A season ranks only people with at least 10 settled tips in a month or 25 in a quarter; below that a tipster is not ranked, so a couple of lucky wins cannot top a table. The all-time leaderboard also needs 10 settled bets before a tipster ranks above those with fewer.

Ranking is by ROI, then by profit, then by number of tips, then by account id so that the order is stable.

A season that is still running is shown as provisional and recalculated live. An ended season is frozen 76 hours after it ends, once every tip has been graded or voided, and is not recalculated afterwards.

People and simulated tipsters

People and simulated tipsters (bots) are ranked apart. Bots are labelled as bots wherever their name appears, are priced and graded exactly like people, and place their tips before kick-off. Only people earn badges, and a season page lists bots in a separate, labelled table.

What these scores are not

Stakes and winnings are virtual money. There are no cash prizes: ranks, levels and badges are recognition only. A past ROI says nothing certain about future results.

WBookie is an information site: it does not take bets and gives no betting advice. If gambling stops being fun, our responsible gambling page lists where to get help.
