Match Result (1X2) Betting Explained
1X2 (match result) is a bet on the 90-minute outcome of a match: 1 = home win, X = draw, 2 = away win. It is the simplest and most popular football market.
How it works
You pick one of three outcomes for full time (regular 90 minutes plus stoppage, excluding extra time): the home team wins (1), the match is drawn (X), or the away team wins (2).
Each outcome has its own decimal odds. Multiply your stake by the odds to find the potential return; lower odds mean a more likely outcome.
Worked example
Scenario: Home win priced at 2.10, you stake €10.
Outcome: If the home team wins, you return €21 (€10 × 2.10), an €11 profit. Any draw or away win loses the stake.
Pros
- Easiest market to understand
- Available on every match
- Best liquidity and tightest margins
Cons
- The draw makes single bets harder than two-way markets
- Lower value on heavy favourites
